SUMMARY:

The Retail Sales Associate  is responsible for servicing the gift shop at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park.  The Retail Sales Associate should always maintain a positive, upbeat attitude toward all guests, co-workers and management of Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park.  Emphasis should be placed on providing constant attention to cleanliness and delivering exceptional customer service to our guests.     
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must provide customer assistance.  Cheerfully greet guests that are shopping and offer your assistance to help them. 
• Be attentive at all times.
• Always be polite and refer unresolved customer concerns to the supervisor.
• Watch for potential shoplifters.  If you suspect a customer’s actions, get assistance from another employee or supervisor.  Once you have observed a person taking an item, notify the supervisor.  Make a mental description of the person.  To discourage shoplifting, always be attentive and alert to customers.
• Know your merchandise.  Inform your supervisor of items that are selling fast or are very slow moving items.  Examine the sale racks and displays regularly.  Keep your manager informed of items that are soiled, damaged or untagged. 
• During times when the gift shop is not busy, monitor the lobby area and coffee counter for trash and mess.  Refill the coffee machines as needed and place litter in the appropriate place.
• Inspect the work area for cleanliness, neat appearance, and maximum stock displays.
• There is absolutely no reading on the job.
• Before leaving, vacuum, empty the garbage, flatten cardboard, straighten merchandise, stock merchandise and clean counters.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
